CHERY USED AUTO SHANGHAI SHOW TO PROMOTE NEW BRAND IMAGE
Chery, one of the most successful exporters of Chinese domestic brand passenger cars, made good use of the recent Auto Shanghai show to promote its new brand image under the banner New Standard, New Power, New Chery.
The cars on display included two new products, the Arrizo M7 SUV and Tiggo5 1.5T SUV as well as two concept vehicles, the Arrizo 5 and @Ant3, an individualised urban runabout.
Chery also took the opportunity to unveil its iPOWER system, an intelligent power source which integrates traditional and new energy technologies.
Aside from displaying its brand-new products and concept vehicles at Auto Shanghai 2015, Chery also displayed its range of current models, such as Tiggo5, Tiggo3, Arrizo 7, and Arrizo3, in addition to two new-energy car models, the Arrizo7 PHEV (a plug-in hybrid with a 1.6-litre petrol engine and 355 volt lithium-ion battery) and Arrizo3 EV (an electric vehicle with a range of 260km that takes only 30 minutes to charge to 80% of capacity), which all promoted Chery’s advanced technologies.
The growing Arrizo sub-brand is built on Chery’s new iAuto platform which is an updated version of the Chery A3 platform and incorporates Cloudrive telematics, ACTECO powertrains and Cherysma design and quality standards.
Founded on January 8, 1997, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. is one of the most successful independent Chinese vehicle manufacturers that has grown through independent innovation after China’s reform and the opening up of the economy.
Over the past 16 years since its founding, Chery has adhered to independent innovation, gradually establishing a complete technical and product research and development division while exporting its products to more than 80 countries.
Chery’s cumulative production since its founding is approaching five million vehicles, which includes exports totalling more than one million cars, putting it ahead of other Chinese domestic passenger vehicle brand manufacturers.
Chery has built three passengers vehicle manufacturing bases in Wuhu, Dalian and Ordos which can turn out 900 000 vehicles, 900 000 engines and 800 000 transmissions annually. In terms of product quality improvement, with the aim of building safe, energy-conserving and eco-friendly products, Chery has gradually been geared to international standards, established a set of distinctive quality assurance management systems, and passed international quality system certifications such as ISO9001 and TUV Rheinland ISO/TS16949.
“Independent innovation” is the core of Chery’s development strategy. Since Chery’s founding, Chery has adhered to independent innovation and endeavoured to become a technology-oriented enterprise.
Chery has formed a complete R & D system integrating vehicle, powertrain, key parts development, trial-manufacturing and testing, centring on the Automotive Engineering & Research Institute in Wuhu which is supported by research centres in Beijing, Shanghai, Italy, Japan and Australia.
Through independent innovation, Chery has achieved breakthroughs in an array of domestic, high tech core technologies such as dual variable valve timing (DVVT), turbocharged petrol direct injection (TGDI), continuously variable transmission (CVT) and new energy, thus driving the technical upgrading of all series. In terms of intellectual property construction, Chery has applied for about 9 000 patents and already been awarded more than 6 000, ranking first among Chinese domestic vehicle manufacturers.
