Pretoria, 14 March 2016 – In the second half of 2016 Jaguar Land Rover South Africa will have the full range of Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) models in the country.

SVO is a dedicated branch of Jaguar Land Rover that offers high-specification vehicles, high-performance derivatives, bespoke ultra-luxurious models and limited-run cars for collectors to both brands’ most discerning and enthusiastic customers.

“At Special Vehicle Operations we harness the very best talent and expertise Jaguar Land Rover has, to deliver exceptional products and services our customers will love for life,” says John Edwards, Managing Director of Special Operations. “That includes customers across the globe, and I’m proud to say that every SVO production model will be on offer in South Africa this year.”

Jaguar Land Rover currently offers the Range Rover Sport SVR and Range Rover SVAutobiography in South Africa. These models build on their respective performance and luxury portfolios without sacrificing any of Land Rover’s legendary breadth of capability.

The Range Rover Sport SVR is the fastest and most powerful Land Rover ever built, with incredible performance from its 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine. It is capable of accelerating from 0 – 100km/h in 4.7 seconds. Even though it is capable of keeping up with sports cars the Range Rover Sport SVR retains its off-road credentials, making it the world’s most capable performance SUV.

For the ultimate in luxury, customers should look no further than the Range Rover SVAutobiography. With a 1 700 watt Meridian audio system, 24-way electrically adjustable seats finished in luxurious Bridge of Weir leather, deep pile mohair carpet and a champagne chiller – replete with two champagne flutes – it’s the most desirable Range Rover yet.

These supremely capable and luxurious off-road vehicles are joined by the limited-run Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7. Five of these bespoke, hand-built supercars are headed to South African customers – testament to Jaguar’s commitment to offer buyers the very best it has to offer.

In August the SVR range will be further expanded with the introduction of the fastest production F-TYPE ever, the Jaguar F-TYPE SVR. This 320km/h all-weather supercar will be motivated by a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 producing 423kW and 700Nm, with an all-wheel drive system assisting in sending power to all four wheels. An Inconel titanium exhaust system will bring its V8 growl to life, letting the ultimate F-TYPE announce its presence and leave its mark.

“Every Jaguar and Land Rover is already a fantastic product, but at Special Vehicle Operations we take them back to the drawing board to determine how we can make them even better,” says Edwards. “Our expertise is not just in extracting more performance, but also to look at the needs of our most selective customers and tailor vehicles to their tastes or requirements.”

Aside from its role as a division that is responsible for bespoke creations, SVO also heads up the Jaguar Heritage and Land Rover Heritage programmes. Through these, owners of classic Jaguar Land Rover vehicles have access to original parts for their vehicles.

Jaguar Heritage recently built six classic Jaguar Lightweight E-Types – 50 years after the completion of the original 12 cars. These modern reincarnations have been built to the exact specification of the first cars, using high the same performance engines that saw Jaguar win multiple titles at Le Mans.
