Honda first introduced the beloved CR-V family SUV back in 1995. Since its inception, the brand has enjoyed more than 9-million sales in over 150 countries worldwide. This speaks volumes about its importance both to the brand and family SUV buyers worldwide.

Now in its 5th generation, the new CR-V introduces more angular, modern lines, much in keeping with that of the new Civic.

Enter Turbo Power

There are two separate engines available within the CR-V range, the 2.0-litre petrol engine, carried over from the outgoing CR-V, now further improved and offering higher levels of refinement and an overall smoother more quiet ride and then perhaps, more importantly, the new 1.5-litre turbopetrol motor. With the 1.5T’s peak output of 140 kW and 240 Nm of torque delivered, and Honda’s claimed 7-litres/100km combined consumption, this new motor proves an important and impressive addition to the new model.

4Power is driven by a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which mates the best of a relaxed smooth automatic drive with the option of sportier manual shift paddles on the steering wheel.

Enter New Levels Of Refinement

While previous generations of the CR-V garnered the attention of many family buyers due to their impressive build and spacious interiors, this new 5th generation model offers interior build refinement with new heights of quality and technological advancements.

Available in either a cloth upholstery or full leather, the dashboard and overall materials are impressive and soft-to-the-touch. The CR-V also features many nice to have technological advancements. The executive build of the Comfort interior also includes a large Apple CarPlay-compatible 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 2 USB ports for front and rear passengers.

2Seating is also well catered for, with 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, 4-way adjustable front passenger seat with front seat heating as standard, not to mention the vehicles large rear seating space with the standard 60:40 folding seat split and capacity for loading luggage at 522 litres with the seats folded-up and 1 084 litres, with all the seats folded completely flat.

Perfect For Any Family Journey

Honda has really moved the goal posts with this all-new CR-V. Equipped with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Agile Handling Assist (AHA), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Driver Attention Monitor and ISOfix child seat mounting points, it remains a family SUV which offers safety as a top priority and couples a safe ride with that of an ultimately high-quality and refined one too.

With its more youthful design, bolder styling and wealth of technological advancements, this new will almost certainly see the brand going taking the CR-V from strength-to-strength in terms of overall global sales.
