The stunning Delaire Graff Estate in Stellenbosch, Cape Town is the setting for the international motor launch of the new Rolls – Royce Dawn.

RR - Dawn - 6Any vehicle which bares the “Spirit of Ecstasy ” emblem on the bonnet is very special and of course, the new Rolls – Royce is very special indeed. Based on Rolls – Royce Ghost chassis. The new Rolls – Royce  Dawn is smaller and more agile than its larger sibling, the Drophead. Rolls – Royce don’t release new vehicles very often, so you can rest assured that when a new vehicle is released, it will be very special.

RR - Dawn - 1The new Dawn has a smaller profile, curb weight of 2560 kg and its large 6,6-litre direct-injection twin turbo V12 motor propels the Dawn from 0 – 100 km/h (62 Mph) in a mere 4,9 seconds and on to an electronically governed top speed of 255 km/h. A very impressive feat, when you consider the bespoke level of quality, comfort and attention to detail, only delivered by a Rolls – Royce.

RR - Dawn - 2As with every Rolls – Royce I have ever travelled in, the comfort of seating, silent ride and overall attention to detail within the Dawn, is simply exceptional.

With the “Spirit of Ecstasy” symbol gracefully resting within the central media control jog wheel, entertainment and media are dealt with in a similar manner to that of BMW’s i-Drive system. Of course Rolls – Royce have however added their own interface styling overlay. Details are in the DNA of the new Dawn, from its textbook Rolls – Royce Dawn dash clock, to retro styled air-conditioning vents and aluminium dash panelling.
